History and Other Information

Roman Rangers YFC was founded in the summer of 2008, with three teams who had previously been associated with Wolverton Tigermoths. Our Under-13 Blues squad was formed back in 2006 and are now into their fourth season in the MKDJ7's league, having played originally as Wolverton Tigermoths Yellows, then Wolverton Tigermoths Whites. Our two Under-11's squads joined the league as Under-7's in January 2008 and so are now playing in their third season of league football.

Since our formation, the club has grown rapidly, and for 2011/12 we have eleven squads playing in the league, plus a fast-growing Under-6 section.

The club welcomes players from all over the Milton Keynes area, although most of our members live to the west of the city, and we use three local schools to play our home games - Loughton School, Bradwell Village School, and Broughton Fields Primary School. Loughton School is also our summer training venue, while for winter training we use the floodlit astroturf facility at Lord Grey School.

Almost all of our squads are either full or oversubscribed, which underlines the excellent reputation the club has built up in a short space of time for playing good football in a friendly, inclusive environment. Where possible, we will always look to create new squads to meet the high demand for places.

As a club, Roman Rangers Y.F.C. fully-supports the FA's "Respect" campaign and expects all players, officials and parents to conduct themselves in the right manner at all times, remembering that youth football is for kids, not adults. Our club was the first in Milton Keynes to enrol all its coaches and club officials onto the Berks and Bucks FA's "Bullying Awareness" course, reinforcing our commitment to showing the right standards of behaviour at all times.

In June 2009 we hosted our first 6-a-side summer tournament; a major undertaking for a club that was barely a year old at the time. The day was a huge success, blessed with glorious weather, with all age groups filled and some excellent football played in a fantastic atmosphere.

If you are interested in joining one of the friendlist, fastest-growing and most progressive youth football clubs in Milton Keynes then feel free to contact any of our coaches (click here for a full list of numbers) or contact Neil Drury (Club Secretary) on 07877 831418, or e-mail neil.efc@hotmail.com.
